Place: Bespoke Kitchen

Location: West Village – Hudson St between Jane St & West 12th St

Bespoke’s winterized entrance

The scoop:

Infamous for their Bloody Mary’s, which a mini brunch in itself is basically. Just watch this for yourself; it’s what leads me to wanting to check this out:

“Brunch in a Glass” video

Reviews of this place are pretty stellar on various sites, not to mention the amount of pictures of delicious looking food, all pointed to signs of you must eat here.

Bar/Dining area

Atmosphere:

Small little café on Hudson, with décor that wasn’t particularly noteworthy. The service was quick, however, we were misled is our brunch meal options and choices.

Bottoms Up:
Brunch special option $18 / Add Bottomless Mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Mary’s to your entree

Parties of 3 or less, 1.5 hours

Parties of 4 or more, 2 hours

Bloody Mary

Mary’s Walk of Shame / $15 Bloody Mary topped with Grilled Cheese, Maple Bacon, Pastrami, Sausage, Pickles

Worthy of all snaps and instas! It’s literally a meal in itself. A+ for the hilarious name. The bloody itself was pretty standard. You’ll likely only need one of these due to the amount of toppings you get.

Chew on this:

Avocado Toast

AVOCADO TOAST / $17 Toasted Wheat Bread, Poached Egg, Asparagus Salad, Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Spread

I have never felt so cheated. The price to meal ratio did not work. I had semi high hopes – the sever told us this was their most popular dish. I also thought I would at least get 2 pieces of toast. While this was good, I cannot recommend this dish simply due to the skyrocketed price for what you get.

GRAVLAX BAGEL
/ $18 House Cured Skuna Bay Salmon, Tartare Cream Cheese

Another item that was really unworthy of the cost. The bagel looked like it came from another city, was definitely not a tristate area bagel. The toppings were all spread out and not significant. The lox was not good either.

Short Rib Benedict

SHORT RIB BENEDICT / $19 Poached Eggs, Biscuits, Chimichurri Hollandaise

Interesting enough our server told us we were getting pork short rib, which we didn’t realized existed. We in fact got beef, totally fine, but servers should know what they’re serving. The short rib was pretty good, served on little toast bites. Sauce was good. Potatoes were really greasy.

Final bite:

If you’re looking for an Instagram worthy Bloody, this is where you will find it! If you’re looking for a great brunch meal, I would move on.
