Brunch Beat: A new brunch is born in Brooklyn

By on December 2, 2011

We’re always excited when we learn about a new brunch spot in the city. This one takes us to Brooklyn, where The Saint Austere (613 Grand St.) will begin serving brunch this Sunday and every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A Williamsburg favorite with a laid-back vibe, The Saint Austere will offer 10 brunch dishes, with an average price of $11 per dish. Some of their noteworthy entrées include Panettone French toast with crispy prosciutto and pecan butter, poached duck egg with truffled fonduta and fingerlings and “shrimp & grits” (creamy polenta, sausage, rock shrimp). At $6 each, their brunch cocktails — mimosa, Banana-Weissen Beer{ded} or bloody Mary — are reasonable, if you like to enjoy knocking back a few at brunch.

There’s no better time to brunch in Brooklyn. Brunch on!
