Brunch Beat: Beer garden brunching
Beer AND brunch? Yes! Newly opened Spritzenhaus in Greenpoint (33 Nassau Ave., Brooklyn), is a 6,000 square-foot beer hall with more than 20 beers on tap! They have recently started serving food and will offer a Bavarian brunch starting this weekend. Think Oktoberfest style-oversized soft pretzels, eggs cooked to perfection, and cheese galore, paired with great beer from around the world.
Considering the size of this venue, it would be a fantastic spot for friends to gather and continue day drinking if you’ve had brunch at another locale. There are endless seating options both inside and out, giant communal tables, bar seating, and tons of natural light.
Spritzenhaus is located near McCarren Park, where you might have to head over to and nap after you sample all of the delicious food and beer this place has to offer!
Also in brunch news, from the folks that brought you Yerba Buena comes Coppelia (207 W. 14th St.), a fairly new Cuban joint in Chelsea. Opening 24 hours starting this Friday, you can get a breakfast bite any time of day. Now that’s something to cheer to!
