Brunch Beat: Get ready for brunch at Union Square Cafe

By on August 25, 2011

On Sept. 3, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Cafe (21 E. 16th St.) opens its doors earlier than usual to serve brunch for the first time in the restaurant’s 25-year history. The “greenmarket-inspired” brunch menu will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Here’s a deal for those of you that like a little spice with your brunch: $28 for an entrée and an hour of unlimited mimosas at El Paso Restaurante (1643 Lexington Ave. and 237 E. 116th St.). Choose between Huevos Benedictinos with chipotle hollandaise sauce, buttermilk pancakes and an open-faced omelette with peppers, onions, chile serrano and queso oaxaca, among other Mexican dishes. Wash it down with an hour of mimosas to end a lovely day of brunching.

Safety first, but Hurricane Irene will not stop us from brunching this weekend! Brunch on!

Thank you for mentioning Midnight Brunch. Folks have just three days left to enter. I hope to see one of your “gang” there. 🙂
