Brunch Beat: Where to brunch over MDW

By on May 27, 2011

Are you hanging in the city this Memorial Day weekend? If so, there isn’t a better time to brunch! Since people tend to leave the city over long weekends — especially the first one of the summer — there will be less crowds to deal at restaurants.

Essex (120 Essex St.) on the Lower East Side is extending their brunch menu through Monday. For $22.95, enjoy one of their delectable dishes and three drinks (your choice of bloody Mary, mimosa or screwdriver). Keep in mind brunch at Essex is cash only!

Also offering their brunch menu on Memorial Day are Bondi Road (153 Rivington St.), Sunburnt Calf (226 W. 79th St.), Sunburnt Cow (137 Avenue C), and Paradou (8 Little W. 12th St.), where you can have unlimited champagne with your entree for $29.

Vai Restaurant’s new spinoff, Vai Spuntino Bar (105 Thompson St.), starts serving brunch over Memorial Day weekend. The menu will include 12 dishes and watermelon rose sangria. Sounds delish!

Enjoy the start of summer, and as always, brunch on!
